The work <Element of the Sense> is a series-type work with the meaning of 'we capture
momentary moments in our memories with the emotions we feel
through our senses'. This AVS project produced the sixth version,
and the basic form of the work was composed of the intersection of
kinetic art and lighting art. In this ver.6, going beyond projecting the
RGBW spot light source, the wave visible when terahertz (THz),
which is light outside the visible region, passes through a narrow
gap, is mapped to the work. In <Element of Sense ver.6>, we intend to further expand the
'field distribution' in space by projecting this wave data onto a
sculptural object. The 'distribution of the field' in space is the source
of all forces, and that force expands the human body's sense of
space as a measure. Light is an objectified tool and subject of
subjective experience, and the space in which the work is installed
completely depends on the existence of the audience.
In addition,
light is also a field of energy that illuminates a space. Space forms
an ever-changing 'distribution of fields', and the viewer looking at
the work in it can think about the work in the flow of waves
connected without boundaries. In previous works from ver.1 to
ver.5, this series of processes was implemented in a flat form, but in
this ver.6, it takes the form of a 'Mobius strip' with a more organic
phase. Through this, the audience who sees the work can find the
'visual flow connected without boundaries' in the form of the work.
The artist unfolds the microscopic world events in front of his eyes and turns them into something tangible in reality. It is a solid state material, not a virtual reality that is dispersed in the air like a gas, and the desire to reduce it in the precise reality of reality. The desire to create something tangible again is the biggest driving force for the current artist to continue his work. He is familiar with machinery, and the main material used is metal. The expression method is based on modular work and numerical completeness. Recently, he is interested in situational directing and installation that creates an experience that feels like being drawn to virtual reality without virtual screening such as VR or AR. The accidental combination of calculated mechanical movements and finely tuned light and sound obviously creates a sense that is very foreign to the real world.
